Orange Ombré Clock.
You all know by now that I’m obsessed with “ombré”. I know, it’s a little “been there, done that” but I think it’s timeless – and there’s never enough ombré to go around! Just work with me on this one, yah?
It all started a while back when my husband had complained about not having a clock in our dining room, so, to check the time (uh, hello, just wear the watch I gave you!), he’d have to lean his chair back to see the clock in the kitchen, poor thing. I figured it was a small price to pay to make him happy. I love you, Elliott!
So, while flipping the pages of this year’s Ikea catalog, I came across this amazing orange ombré clock! Plus…one of the walls in our dining room is painted a burnt orange, and to be honest, I liked that it matched, but wasn’t a “perfect” match but wasn't an exact match (it's not really my thing to be "matchy-matchy") – more of a "color cousin" to the opposing wall.
A little caveat here - the photo above has been edited just slightly to give it that "vintage" feel. The walls here are actually white.
I’m always on the hunt for unique décor finds and this one was just perfect and the price couldn’t be better – under $20! After some “wall Tetris” of moving some frames around, I happily found a home for this new clock.
Now, my husband has no excuse to know the time. Well, ok maybe turning his head around this time to see the clock. :)
Tip: Here are some of my favorite places to go for inexpensive (but unique) décor are:
Home Goods (my mother-in-law’s fav and of course, because it’s amazing!)
Nordstrom Rack (more to come on that later…)
Target (check out designs from Nate Berkus and Threshold)
Crate and Barrel and CB2
West Elm (one of my absolute favs – and they have good sales too)
Anthropologie (I mean, c’mon, who doesn’t want a set of vintage-inspired tea cups!)
