Among The Stars

This is an oldie, but definitely a goodie. Since we are in the midst of the High Holiday season and celebrated Rosh Hashanah just last week (the Jewish New Year), I felt it was appropriate to share one of my all time favorite "jamicures"! And of course, featuring the deliciously sweet yet tart pomegranate - one of the "new" fruits we eat on Rosh Hashanah and the perfect seasonal fruit was a definite must for this #nailfie photo on this #MANIMONDAY!

You may ask, why the pomegranate? Why is that a significant fruit that we eat on Rosh Hashanah (not just because it's super photogenic), but in Judaism, it is believed by some that the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden was actually a pomegranate, not an apple as we may have been taught growing up. The tradition to eat this heavily-seeded fruit (of 613 seeds - yes, the same number of commandments in the Torah) is because of the numerous seeds, it resembles fruitfulness. And on Rosh Hashanah, we purposely eat foods that can help us not just sustain a beautiful life, but help us grow and achieve even more greatness. And no, it doesn't mean that G-d wants us to have 613 children! HA!

And ah...these Jamberry wraps! These stunners are called "among the stars" (and sadly, these are discontinued) but one of my personal favorites. It's a twist on a what looks like polka dots and stripes but to me, it just looks like the perfect wrap design to ring in 5779.

New year, new opportunities, challenges, hopes and dreams - infinite possibilities, just like gazing up at the infinite number of stars in the universe. I'm sure you all, like me, are hopeful for the new year. I've been given new challenges at work in both my day job and all of my side jobs, (and even my husband got a new, exciting job this year) so I'm working hard to give you all some fresh new content and hopefully, helping you to become your most beautiful self! 5778 was a great year, but cheers, or l'chaim to a new and even better 5779!

Happy holidays my beauties! I hope and pray that this is a happy, healthy, successful and sweet new year for you all!
