Friday Fav - Glossier Lash Slick

Updated: Apr 30, 2020

You know that feeling, when a product or item of clothing (or even a relationship) comes along that is just so perfect, so life-changing, you do whatever you can to hold onto it? Even if the item is out of stock or discontinued (hopefully that doesn't happen to that someone special in your life!), you scour as much of the "interwebs" as you can - until you find it on eBay, buy it in bulk and never let it go. Oh I hope that never happens to this magical product.

Why am I making such a fuss over...mascara?! I know, it's JUST mascara, but remember when that famous Maybelline pink and green tube came out and people went bonkers over it? Well, that's how I feel about Glossier's Lash Slick! Okay, before I get into why I'm obsessed, I first must tell you HOW insanely over-the-moon I am about this entire brand. You may have seen some of my past "Friday Favs" where I've raved about Glossier's "You" fragrance, and it it just pure perfection. Or maybe their make-up melting face wash, the Milky Jelly Cleanser. Or how about the Zit Stick or their "balm dot com" lip balms (lol), and oh their Mega Greens Galaxy Pack face mask! #HELPME

Okay, fine, now that you understand my obsession with Glossier, let's get into one of their newer products, the oh-so-lovely Lash Slick.

Overall, I have a few problems with mascara. Either it's too clumpy and crumbles into my eyes, or it melts off my face and by noon I have raccoon eyes. I have been blessed with long eyelashes but usually I just want to accentuate them, make my eyes pop, lengthen and give some curl and volume. Is that SO much for a girl to ask? :)

Here's the scoop with the Lash Slick. First, let's talk about the feel. While most mascaras (and I've tried MANY), feel heavy or clumpy or too thick on my lashes, Glossier's feels so incredibly light, it's as if I don't have anything on my lashes! It doesn't clump or crumble, and no spidery lashes in sight either. It lifts and separates and gives me the perfect volume - not too much but just enough to make my eyes shine.

Secondly (and this is a biggie for me), this is the first time in probably, well, ever, that I've been able to wear mascara on my lower lashes! Yes, even when I would wear mascara just on my upper lashes (even without eyeliner), it would inevitably end up under my eyes. But not the Lash Slick. I can use it on top and bottom and it stays. Perfect. All day. No smudging. And water-resistant? Oh yes ma'am! That's not going anywhere but stayin' put!

Now you may be wondering "okay, sure it's staying on your eyelashes so well, but how about removal? Isn't it going to be hard to remove?" I'm sure you know my answer, but let's say it all together now: NOPE! Quite the opposite actually! I have very little mascara "residue" leftover after I wash my face, so there's no harsh scrubbing or wiping on your delicate eye area.

And... BONUS! Lash Slick is: "cruelty free, paraben free, fragrance free, hypoallergenic, allergy tested, dermatologist tested, ophthalmologist tested, suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, non-irritating"

Isn't that what we all want for the perfect mascara? Light, yet defines your eyelashes with volume? Easy to remove and doesn't irritate? Check and check.

And now I'm just praying that this favorite of mine never gets discontinued! Well, maybe I should stock up, just in case. :)

Until my next round of Friday Favs...

Happy Friday!!
